Website design cost in Ghana ranges widely. Agencies that publish prices start small business sites at roughly GHS 1,200–3,500, full business sites with a content system at about GHS 3,500–6,500, and online stores with MTN MoMo checkout from about GHS 8,000–12,000. Domain, hosting and monthly maintenance are often charged on top. Check what each quote includes.

If you have asked three web designers in Accra for a price, you have probably received three very different numbers. This guide explains why, using what Ghanaian agencies publish on their own sites, and lists the running costs that cheap quotes leave out. It is written for small business owners in Accra, Kumasi, Tema and beyond. PED Solution Studios’ own price is included at the end, labelled as ours.

Reading the table: most agency business sites with a content system land between about GHS 3,000 and GHS 8,000. Prices below about GHS 1,000 are usually templates with little setup. Stores with mobile money checkout start higher because the checkout, stock and orders are real work.

Why website prices in Ghana differ so much

  1. Template or custom design. A theme with your logo is cheaper than a design built for your business.
  2. Number of pages and how much writing is needed. Ten pages of real content take longer than three.
  3. Can you edit it yourself? A content management system (CMS) adds setup and training.
  4. Features. Bookings, forms that feed a CRM, multiple languages, member areas.
  5. Payments. Taking MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or cards needs a payment gateway and testing.
  6. SEO setup. Titles, descriptions, a sitemap and page speed take time. Some quotes skip them.
  7. What’s bundled. Some prices include domain, hosting and a support period, and some do not.

The running costs a quote often leaves out

  • Domain name. Mckot Digital estimates roughly GHS 150–500 a year, depending on the extension. A .com.gh domain usually costs more than a .com.
  • Hosting. Published estimates range from about GHS 200 a year (Bluevels’ hosting plan) and GHS 300 a year for basic shared hosting (Mckot Digital) to GHS 600–2,000 a year for better local hosting (Pinuno).
  • Maintenance. Security updates, backups and small edits. Published monthly plans include GHS 200–500 (Pinuno’s suggested range for a basic retainer), GHS 450 (Bluevels’ care plan) and GHS 600–1,500 (Mckot Digital).
  • Content and marketing. A site that never changes slowly loses visibility, and ongoing SEO is a separate cost.

Ask every designer: what will this site cost me in year two?

Questions to ask before you pay

  • Are the domain and hosting included, for how long, and in whose name are they registered?
  • How many pages, and who writes the text?
  • Can I edit the content myself after launch?
  • Does the price include basic SEO setup: titles, descriptions and a sitemap?
  • How do customers reach me: a WhatsApp button, a form, a phone number?
  • What happens after launch, and what does maintenance cost?
  • Is a deposit required, and what do I get if the project stops?

How to compare two website quotes in Accra or Kumasi

Put both quotes side by side and fill in the same lines for each: number of pages, who writes the text, template or custom design, CMS and training, SEO setup, domain and hosting (and for how many years), payments, support period, and the monthly cost after launch. Then add year one and year two together.

Two quotes that look GHS 2,000 apart often end up close once domain, hosting and maintenance are counted. Sometimes the cheaper one ends up dearer. In this small sample the Kumasi studio’s ranges overlap the Accra ones, so location matters less than scope.

What PED Solution Studios charges for a website

PED publishes one fixed price. A business website from PED starts at GH₵4,499 and includes:

  • Design and build of about 1 to 10 pages, depending on the business.
  • Domain and hosting.
  • SEO setup: titles, descriptions, a sitemap and the basics a search engine needs (not a promise of page one).
  • Links to your social accounts.
  • A WhatsApp button that opens a chat with a message already written.
  • Content you can edit yourself after launch.

After launch you can add an optional maintenance plan at GH₵300 a month. It is not required. Most sites are ready in 7 to 10 working days, depending partly on how quickly text, photos and decisions arrive. A site can take mobile money through Hubtel or PaySwitch (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money), and cards through PayPal, or Stripe for companies registered abroad.

What GH₵4,499 is not: a full online store with its own stock and checkout rules, or a web app with accounts and orders. Those are scoped per project. See e-commerce with mobile money and custom software.

Website, online store or web app?

  • Business website. For services, professional firms, schools, churches, developers and restaurants that need to be found and contacted.
  • Online store. When customers should browse, pay by MoMo or card, and receive delivery without a chat.
  • Web application. When people log in, place orders, book or manage records. That is software, priced as software. See brochure, WordPress or custom.
