There is no independent ranking of the best software companies in Ghana. The right company depends on what you need built. Ghana’s established firms split into product companies (payments, HR, ERP, health) and custom studios that build to your workflow. Shortlist by type first, then check each firm’s own site, live work and code ownership terms.
Most “top 10” lists for this search are written by one of the companies on the list, and some rank themselves first. We are a software studio too, so we have done this differently. Below is a plain directory, in alphabetical order. Each entry says only what that company says about itself on its own website, which we checked on 18 October 2026. There are no scores and no positions. PED Solution Studios is listed last and is labelled as the publisher.
Two kinds of software company in Ghana
Before you compare names, decide which kind of company you need.
Product companies sell software they have already built: a payments platform, an HR suite, an ERP, a hospital system. You subscribe or license it, then configure it. This is usually the faster and cheaper route when your process is common.
Custom studios build software around your process: a dispatch desk, a marketplace, a portal with your pricing rules. You pay for the build and you should own the result. This route pays off when your workflow is the advantage, or when no product fits it.
Many Ghana businesses need both: a packaged accounting tool their auditor already trusts, plus a custom layer for the job that keeps breaking. We wrote about that fork in custom software vs ready-made tools in Ghana.
Software companies in Ghana, A to Z (from their own websites)
Inclusion is not an endorsement, and leaving a company out is not a judgement. Ghana has many more firms than this. We picked established names that appear repeatedly in Ghana search results and whose websites state clearly what they do. Check each company’s site yourself, because offers change.

PED Solution Studios (pedsolution.com), the publisher of this guide
PED Solution Studios is a software studio in Accra, founded in 2011 by Emmanuel Oduro as a side business to fund his studies at the University for Development Studies, Wa Campus. It builds custom software and mobile apps, operations software and custom ERP, and business websites from GH₵4,499. Its published work includes BYOB, a commerce and logistics platform with three Android apps on Google Play and six web portals; Equipment Hub, a heavy-machinery marketplace with Android and iOS apps; and Thirdspace, a gear and crew rental marketplace in Accra. PED has also helped companies become compliant with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). Kind: custom studio.
Software companies in Accra
Most of Ghana’s software firms are based in Greater Accra. Of the companies above, Devarps, IPMC (East Legon), Spagad (Asylum Down) and PED say on their own sites that they are in Accra. For the others, check the contact page. If being able to visit matters to you, ask for a street address and a meeting, not only a WhatsApp number.
If your business is in Kumasi, Tema or Takoradi, an Accra studio can still work well. Ask how often they will be on site, who travels, and how support works when the problem is a cashier’s phone in another city.
How to choose between them
The full checklist is in how to choose a software development company in Ghana. These are the five questions that settle most shortlists:
- Product or build? If a product already covers your process, buy it and spend the difference on customers.
- Can they show live work like yours? Ask for a URL or a store listing, not only screenshots. Every project PED lists on its work page is a named job.
- Have they shipped mobile money? Ask which gateways they have integrated and who handles a failed MoMo prompt after launch. PED’s confirmed integrations are Hubtel and PaySwitch for MoMo, PayPal for cards, and Stripe for foreign companies taking foreign payments.
- Who owns the code, domain and app store accounts? This should be in writing before work starts.
- How do they handle personal data? Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) applies to customer, staff and patient records. A serious partner raises this before you do.
Red flags in “best of” lists
- A list where the author ranks itself first with a scoring model it designed.
- Numbers you cannot check, such as “100% satisfaction”, or project counts with no named projects.
- No date, so you cannot tell if the information is current.
- Every company described in identical words. That usually means nobody visited the sites.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best software company in Ghana?
There is no independent ranking. The best fit depends on whether you need an existing product (payments, HR, ERP, a hospital system) or a custom build. Shortlist by type, check live work and get code ownership in writing.
Are there software companies in Accra that build custom software?
Yes. According to their own websites, Devarps and PED Solution Studios build custom software and mobile apps in Accra, and Spagad builds custom software. Ask each one for live examples close to your project.
How much does custom software cost in Ghana?
It depends on scope: who uses it, what it must do on day one, and the integrations (MoMo, SMS, accounting). PED scopes software per project after a call and does not publish a package price. The only fixed price on its site is the GH₵4,499 website.
Should I choose a local or an offshore company?
A local company should win on context: MoMo edge cases, delivery realities and being able to meet. Offshore teams can win on a rare skill. Whatever you choose, make sure someone answers when a payment fails on a Friday.
Does PED Solution Studios rank itself in this list?
No. Entries are alphabetical, with PED placed last and labelled as the publisher. Each entry uses only what the company says on its own site.
